Inclusive Employer

BlueScope have again been awarded Inclusive Employer Status by the Diversity Council of Australia.

To be deemed an active and committed Inclusive Employer 2021-2022 organisations must have:

  • Invited at least 65% of their employees to participate; and
  • Achieved results that exceed the National Index Benchmark on at least five out of six of the following measures:
    • Awareness;
    • Engagement;
    • Inclusive Organisation;
    • Inclusive Leadership;
    • Inclusive Team; and
    • Exclusion

Diversity Council Australia’s Inclusion @ Work Survey

In July 2021, all of our employees had the opportunity to participate in the Diversity Council Australia’s Inclusion @ Work Survey which helps build an understanding of the state of Inclusion in Australian workplaces and benchmarks our progress over time.

The research focused on answering two questions:

  1. How inclusive is the Australian workforce for a diversity of employees, and how has this changed over time?
  2. What impact does inclusion have on performance and wellbeing?

What do our results tell us?
86% of our respondents strongly support our organisation taking action to create a workplace which is diverse and inclusive.
